Theme of February’s Polish Pickup is a fun one! “Cute But Deadly” opens to so many different interpretations, from animals, insects, plants, to animations, TV characters, and all sorts of art work across all media. As always, I have offerings from 4 brands to share with you. Here we go!
Octi Evil｜Beaux Rêves Lacquer
First up, from Beaux Rêves Lacquer, we got Octi Evil inspired by The Powerpuff Girls’ Bubble’s stuffed toy Octi who turns evil. This is a vibrant purple base, with bright blue to green shimmer, and pink reflective glitter. Shown in 3 coats. I’m absolutely obsessed with this color! The shimmer and the base color combo creates such a unique look. Not to mention how glowy the shimmer is!

Breaking Me Down Just Builds Me Up｜Lemming Lacquer
Next up, from Lemming Lacquer, Breaking Me Down Just Builds Me Up is an aqua jelly with a mix of shimmers shifting pink to copper to gold to green at extreme angles and holographic microflakes. Shown in 3 coats. This is inspired by Brigitte’s Peppermint Bark skin from the video game Overwatch. The holo and shimmer is absolutely unreal in this one! Super gorgeous!
Breaking Me Down Just Builds Me Up｜USD$14.00｜15ml｜Cap 250
Murder Mitts｜LynB Designs
From LynB Designs, we got Murder Mitts, a deep cerulean blue base with ghostly green to blue shifting magnetic pull and added gold to green to blue shifting sparkle. Shown in two coats. The pointer and ring finger are in cat-eye style; the middle finger and pinkie are unmagnetized; and the thumb is in velvet style. This one might stain, so I would recommend using a good base coat with it. The magnetic pull is so sharp I love it!

Feeling Cute, Might Decapitate.000｜PI Colors
Last but not least, from PI Colors, we got Feeling Cute, Might Decapitate.000. This polish is inspired by the lovely orchid mantis, looking like a flower, but still probably definitely going to bite the head off its mate’s head after the deed. This polish is muted green with gray undertone and a pink to gold to green shimmer. Shown in 3 coats. I love how soft the color is, but I would honest buy this just for its name!

Polish Pickup is the largest monthly collaboration for indie nail polishes. Based in the US, the shop opens first Friday to the following Monday of every month for pre-order, featuring mostly indie nail polishes, as well as some indie jewelries, lifestyle items, wax melts, nail cares, bath and body cares, etc. The monthly shop will have different theme each month, submitted and voted by Facebook group members three month ahead, based on which all the brands will create a shop exclusive item.
