Yes, I know! Christmas is long gone. But I’m only now having the time to swatch these Essies so bear with me. Last holiday, Essie curated a set of some popular shades that are perfect for Christmas. This set includes 3 classic holiday colors, and 3 shimmery top coats. Gel by Essie is a 2-step system that doesn’t require base coat. So this set is all you need to have a glossy, long-lasting mani. Let’s get to the swatches!

In-vest In Style

In-vest In Style is described as a mid-tone green, shown in 2 coats. On the nails, it looks a bit greyed out to me. This is one of Gel by Essie’s best seller.

First Fitting

Another one of their best seller is First Fitting, described as a nude greige, but I think it’s more of a white with tiny grey hint. Shown in 3 coats. This one is slightly patchy. Try floating the brush instead of pressing down too hard to avoid patchiness.

Bubbles Only

Bubbles Only is described as a burgundy red creme, shown in 2 coats. This is a true red for me! One that’s perfect for the Holidays and also for Lunar New Year.

Glazed Chrome

Now let’s get to the toppers. Glazed Chrome is a silver metallic shimmer top coat. Shown here as one coat over In-vest In Style. This one is more opaque than I thought! Definitely shimmery and not subtle at all.

Crushed Gold

Crushed Gold is a bright yellow shimmer top coat, shown as one coat over Bubbles Only. Guys, I think I’ve found what I’m going to wear for Lunar New Year! This combination is super festive!

Blushed Metal

Blushed Metal is a violet iridescent shimmer top coat, shown in 1 coat over First Fitting. It looks subtle in my pictures but I believe it would pop more over a darker base color.
