🇺🇸 Optical Illusions – October 2025 Polish Pickup

Coming this weekend is the October PPU, with an interesting theme “Optical Illusion”. As always, I have offerings from Lemming Lacquer and LynB Designs to share with you. Spoiler, both of these came as a pleasant surprise when I put them on the nails. I wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I do. Let’s get into the swatches.

Cheshire Cat Grin｜Lemming Lacquer

First off, Cheshire Cat Grin from Lemming Lacquer is a warm purple jelly with shimmers that shifts from pink to copper to gold and gold reflective glitter. Shown in 3 coats. Mayne it’s just me, but the shimmer and gold reflective glitter combo gave me the illusion of the (in)famous unicorn pee pigment. I didn’t took out my purple UP polish to compare but the resemblance in my mind is satisfying enough for me.

With My Magic Eye｜LynB Designs

From LynB Designs, we have With My Magic Eye, a cool toned purple base with blue to purple shifting magnetic pull and green to blue shifting shimmer, inspired by Jennalyn’s love of magic eye art. Shown in 3 coats. The pointer and ring finger are in cat-eye style; the middle finger and pinkie are unmagnetized; and the thumb is in velvet/black hole style. I’ll admit that I’ve seen a lot of magnetic polishes, and was not particularly excited for this one at first. Not that it’s not beautiful, it’s just that I’ve seen a lot of color combos like this already. But! It did impressed me when I magnetized it into velvet, the color shift from indigo to purple is so prominent!
