🇺🇸 LynB Designs Lover of Words Pt.2 – Haunted Edition

*Products shown are gifted in exchange for swatches. All opinions are my own.*

With October coming, it’s officially Halloween season! LynB Designs is bringing us part 2 of their Lover of Words collection. This is a 9-piece collection inspired by rarely used words with haunted and mysterious vibes. Also launching alongside the collection is another monthly zodiac polish, and a new limited edition glow custom that I will be sharing at the end of the post. Let’s get on with the swatches!

  1. Amate
  2. Subdolous
  3. Malefic
  4. Cozen
  5. Nefarious
  6. Cimmerian
  7. Athymy
  8. Kalopsia
  9. Eidolism
  10. Libra (The Scales)
  11. Wickedly Meowgical

Amate

First up, Amate is muted black to the palest of pink thermal base with intense blue to purple shifting shimmer, added holo shimmer, and holo flakies. Opaque in 3 coats. This one is such a beauty! The shimmers are so delicate, making it a very elegant color to wear. It is also perfectly dusty for fall season.

Subdolous

Subdolous is a deep burgundy to bright red thermal base with loads of pink to orange to gold shifting flakies and scattered holo flakies. Opaque in 2 coats. Although being a heavy loaded flakie polish, this one is very easy to work with. It goes on smoothly and not glue-y at all. I’m also loving the jewel tone of this!

Malefic

Malefic is a deep magenta with red to orange shifting micro flakie shimmer with scattered holo shreds. Opaque in 3 coats. The holo shards are definitely the icing on the cake for me! So much fun seeing them peeking through the base.

Cozen

Next up, Cozen is a blackened plum base with teal to purple shifting magnetic pull with scattered holo flakies, and purple glow in the dark. Shown in 3 coats, with the middle finger and the pinkie unmagnetized. Glow in the dark is definitely a trend this Halloween, and LynB is here for the game! Cozen is so beautiful out in the light. The glow effect is a little shy comparing to the other ones in this post (yes, there’s more!), but it is there when you look, giving out that mystical look! Swipe to see the glowy pics! Please note that glow in the dark pigments are usually heavier, and will likely settle quick. I’d recommend a good shake before use so you can get those pigments to perform the best.

Nefarious

Nefarious is an emerald green base with green to blue to purple shifting shimmer. Opaque in 3 coats. It is so jam-packed with shimmers and I can already see myself wearing this during the holiday seasons too!

Cimmerian

Cimmerian is a deep violet base with blue to purple shifting micro flakie shimmer and scattered holo sparkle. Opaque in 3 coats. It is so sparkly in person!

Athymy

Let’s welcome another glow-in-the-dark polish! Athymy is a royal blue jelly base with pink to orange to yellow shifting shimmer and green glow in the dark. I had so much fun swatching this color! My peelies even kept glowing on my desk for days after. If you want a brighter glow effect, this one is the one! Again, note that glow pigments are usually heavier, and will likely settle quick. A good shake before use is recommended for the best performance.

Kalopsia

Kalopsia ia a pale sheer blue base with pink to orange to gold shifting micro flakie shimmer and pink to orange shifting flakies. Shown here in 3 coats. The formula of this one is a dream! The flakies distributed evenly without trouble, and the color shift is so prominent.

Eidolism

Last but not least from Lover of Words collection, Eidolism is a pinky mauve crelly base with green to blue shifting shimmer. If you are familiar with the brand, this is a Fair Isle sibling. Shown in 3 coats. You can absolutely stop at one or two coats, as the formula is great and not patchy at all. It looks dreamy and ethereal on one or two coats, while the shimmers pop more on 3.

Libra (The Scales)

Joining in the monthly zodiac collection is Libra, a deep teal jelly base with blue to purple shifting micro flakie shimmer. Shown in 3 coats. If you like glowy flakies, this is the one for you. It’s giving mermaid/fairytale vibes and I love it!

That’s it for this month’s collection launch. But wait! There’s more! Jennalyn created a glow-in-the-dark custom for October and I have the swatches for you too.

Wickedly Meowgical

Wickedly Meowgical is a pinky red base with holo flakies, red to orange shifting flakies, and red glow in the dark. Shown in 2 coats. The base has that strawberry-jam-like gloss in it, but to my surprise, it can cover the visible nail line in 2 easy coats. I love that it looks like fruit gummies on the nails. Super cute! Swipe to see how it glows. The glow effect of this one is super interesting! I can see red and green at the same time. This will be available October 13th – 31st, launched alongside the collection and is available all through the end of the month.

The Lover of Words Pt.2 – Haunted Edition, along with Libra and Wickedly Meowgical, will launch on Oct 13th. As always, everything will be half off with code “WORDS” from 10/13 to 10/17. It’s the best time to pick up some of your favorites. Let me know in the comment which one(s) you’re planning to get!
