It’s been a long time since I post swatches for OPI. Although I think a lot of you who read my blog prefer shopping indies, OPI is still the most accessible nail polish brand more most. In this post, I’m sharing with you OPI’s fall collection from this year, the Metallic Mega Mix collection. Unlike before, when they will put out a bunch of same colors in two different formula, regular line and Infinite Shine line, this time, they came out with two separate collection for the two formula, with completely different colors. The regular line (black cap) contains 12 new metallic polishes, while the Infinite Shine line (silver cap) contains 9. Let’s take a look at the regular line first, shall we?

- Supernova Pearl
- Cyber Cherry on Top
- CD Rom-antic
- Cyborn Again
- You’ve Got Nail
- Y2Slay
- CosMic Drop
- Liquid Fire
- Millennium Mocha
- Metallic Rewind
- Saturn Me On
- Chrome Clawz
Supernova Pearl
First up, Supernova Pearl is a metallic rose quartz pink. This is a one coater. The color is very elegant, reminding me of those pink pearls. This one is extremely streaky. You’ll have to be very careful with your brush strokes if you want a nice and clean finish.

Cyber Cherry on Top
Next up is Cyber Cherry on Top, a cherry pink metallic nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats. This one is so glowy! Almost like wearing jewelry on the nails. The formula is a little bit different, making it not streaky at all. If you, like me, are not a fan of streaks, this is the one to pick up.

CD Rom-antic
CD Rom-antic is a rust red metallic nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats. It’s got a little rusty, murky undertone. I don’t know if it’s the holiday spirit sneaking up on me, this gave me a vintage holiday vibe. This one is a little bit streaky, but not too difficult to work with.

Cyborn Again
Cyborn Again is a metallic lilac nail polish. It is also a one coater. Just like Supernova Pearl, this is a very streaky formula. Make sure not to go over it with your brush too many times so that the streaks can be nice and clean. This formula also has less tolerance for nails with ridges. The nail plate on my thumb has some horizontal ridges due to health issue, and you can still see them even after applying top coat. I would recommend using this with a ridge-filling base coat.

You’ve Got Nail
You’ve Got Nail is a metallic periwinkle nail polish. Opaque in 1 coats. This one has the same formula as Supernova Pearl and Cyborn Again, one you have to be mindful with your brush strokes.

Y2Slay
Y2Slay is a metallic cobalt blue nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats. This one is much easier to work with as it is not very streaky. Blue is not really my color, but I like this bright, jewel tone one!

CosMic Drop
CosMic Drop is a metallic violet nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats. It is also a little bit streaky, but it is much more forgiving than the one-coater formula. Among all the purples and the pinks in this collection, I like this one the most. I feel like the color compliments my skin very well.

Liquid Fire
Next up, my favorite from the collection, Liquid Fire is a metallic molten orange nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats, but it is almost a 1 coater. This formula is my favorite because it is not too streaky. The gold shimmer is absolutely beautiful! The color fits the name perfectly. I can see myself wearing this one during Lunar New Year!

Millennium Mocha
Millennium Mocha is a metallic mocha brown nail polish. Opaque in 1 coat. To be honest, this one is a little bit disappointing to me. The base color is very prominent, so the shimmers are barely visible on the nails, making it looks nothing like the bottle. Don’t get me wrong, it is a gorgeous red-ish brown, I just wish it would appear more like the bottle.

Metallic Rewind
Metallic Rewind is a metallic gold nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats. This is a medium tone gold, a pure gold if you will. The formula is good to work with, not too streaky. If you don’t already have a gold in your collection, this is a beautiful one worth considering.

Saturn Me On
Saturn Me On is a metallic bronze nail polish. Opaque in 2 coats, but it is almost a one-coater. This has the same formula, the good one in my opinion, as Metallic Rewind. You don’t have to worry too much if you don’t like streaks.

Chrome Clawz
The last one is Chrome Clawz, a metallic silver nail polish. Opaque in 1 coats. I’m a gold kind of person; silver doesn’t normally look flattering on me. With that said, I do think this would come in handy for nail arts. I probably wouldn’t wear it as a full mani, but it would be perfect as an accent nail or to do some flourishing. I’ve actually already used it in one of my recent design. I will include it down below.

The Metallic Mega Mix collection has been out for a while, you can get them wherever OPI polishes are carried. Here’s a nail art I made recently, using Chrome Clawz for decoration, pairing with velvet magnetic base. I love how the two different formula gave out a ver dimensional look. I will share tutorial tomorrow if I get the time to finish editing it. Feel free to follow my Instagram if you’d like to see it!
