Back from vacation, I have a lot of swatchings to catch up on. Starting off with a new collection from Wildflower Lacquer, coming in early September, the Dark Forest collection. This collection consist 7 perfectly fall colors inspired by a dark forest calendar Taylor received last Christmas. I will also be sharing a new limited edition color, a charity polish, and 2 returning colors available along with this collection. Let get right to the swatches!

Choose any Path
First up, Choose Any Path is a deep teal linear holo. It is almost a one coater; I did two coats just to smooth out the lines. Impressive formula!

Dancing in the Leaves
Next up, Dancing in the Leaves is a blacken berry base with red to orange to gold shifting shimmer and scattered holo flakes. I especially love seeing the hint of gold and almost green shift when the light hits it in an extreme angle. So mesmerizing! Opaque in 2 coats.

Keep Growing Keep Blooming
Keep Growing Keep Blooming is a blackened base with deep blue shimmer and scattered red to gold to green shifting flakes. As a flakie bomb, the formula of this one doesn’t lean a bit thicker than the others, but those colorful flakies are very hard to resist. Shown here in 2 coats.

Perfect Phase to Shine
Where my fellow Gourd lovers at? If you love Perhaps a Christmas Gourd and Mighty Mouse Outside Chicago from previous PPUs, Perfect Phase to Shine is made for you! It is a rich violet base with pink to orange to gold shifting shimmer, a violet version of Mighty Mouse and Gourd. Super glorious and luxurious! While swatching, I noticed that the base color bleeds after top coat, meaning that it makes the shimmers less shine-trough. So I used a water base top coat under my regular top coat to prevent bleeding. This is almost a one coater, shown here in 2 coats.

Blessed by Nature
What’s a fall collection with out a nice prugly color, am I right? Blessed by Nature is a murky olive green with purple to pink to orange shifting shimmer, the same shimmer used in Amethyst. I don’t think I will never get enough of ugly greens with contrasting shimmer! Shown here in 3 coats.

Autumnal Winds
If you know me, you will already know this is my favorite of the collection. Autumnal Winds is a burnt orange jelly with holographic flakes, a sibling to Glisten, Painting the Roses Red, Oodles of Caboodles. Safe to say this is my new favorite formula from Wildlfower. The way those holo flakies shine is simply amazing! Shown here in 2 coats. Please note that this color might stain.

Your Wings are Always Ready to Fly
Last but not least, Your Wings are Always Ready to Fly is a yellow green base with red/orange to gold to green multichrome shift and linear holo. This is a 2.0 of sorts of Sunset Bringer for those who missed it in HHC a few years ago. I don’t have Sunset Bringer to compare, but I’m super happy about this gorgeous copper! The formula is very easy to use; opaque in 2 coat.

Lima Bean
Now let’s get to the singles. Lima Bean is a new limited edition color inspired by Taylor and Kerry’s fur babies. It is a cousin to Butterbean, a red to orange to gold shimmery base with scattered holo. Shown in 2 coats because I enjoy the sheerness. Taylor used to call Harley Butterbean, who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge not too long ago. And now they have a new sausage dog named Louie, aka Lima Bean.

It’s…Ghosts
Another fur baby inspired polish is It’s… Ghosts. It was inspired by Levy, Taylor’s lab/Australian cattle dog mix. Every year for his birthday, Taylor will make a charity polish to raise money for the animal rescue where Levy is from. This year in honor of Levy’s 3rd Birthday in October, Taylor created It’s… Ghosts because everything scares Levy that Taylor is pretty sure he sees ghosts. This is a indigo to purple to pink shifting shimmer base with linear holo. Shown here in 3 coats. $5 of every bottle sold will be donated to Country Roads Animal Rescue.

Butterfly Wings 2.0
The last two colors I’m sharing are both returning toppers from 2019. Butterfly Wings 2.0 is a blue to purple shifting shimmer base with scattered pink to blue to purple shifting crystal flakes. Shown here as 1 coat over a blueish purple.

Dragonfly 2.0
Dragonfly 2.0 is a teal to purple shifting shimmer base with red to gold to green shifting crystal flakes. Shown here as one coat over a dark forest green.

That’s all the colors I have to share today. However, there will be two other charity polishes available during September’s launch. The first is Imua, raising money for the devastating fire in Hawaii; the second is Big Boy, in memory of Taylor’s mom’s cat who sadly passed away recently, benefiting a local cat rescue Paws-OK. You can follow WFL’s Instagram or join their Facebook group for more details and swatches of these two.
Total of the 13 shades will be available for pre-order from 9/4 noon CT to 9/8 11:59pm CT at Wildflower Lacquer’s website. As always, if you get the full Dark Forest Collection, there will be a discounted price of $87.50. Please allow 3 1/2 weeks of shipping time after pre-order closes.
That’s it for all the swatches today! Are you planning to grab any of these? Feel free to share with me in the comment, and make sure to subscribe to my blog for more swatch and reviews like this. You can also follow me on Instagram @jemima.nails for more nail art contents. See you in the next one!
