Finally! The launch I’ve been waiting for for so long is here! It’s been almost a year since UNT’s last new release. And surprise, surprise! They have a new look! For those of you who only came to know the brand recently, they only change their bottles earlier last year, from the 15ml round bottles to the 7ml square ones. But guess what? They switched it back this time with a new bottle print. I have to admit that I’m a bit hesitant when learning about the change since a) I’m not a big fan of changes, and b) I’ve grown to like how easy the square bottles are to store. However, both the new bottle prints and the boxes are so much more classy than the original. That’s why I still enjoy the changes. Wishing that they will stick to the new look, or else my compulsive self would be very anxious.
In the event of the new packaging coming out, they removed the name of the product line “Sun Envy” and made a minor improvement on the formula. This time they came out with 64 different shades, including some oldies but goodies, and a lot more brand new shades. For this swatch and review, I picked six winter-y shades to share with you. Let’s see those swatches, shall we?
LJ 110 “No Regrets” is a warm-tone pink creme that’s surprisingly flattering. I feel like my fingers are longer while wearing it. Opaque in two coats.
LJ 130 “Meant to Be” is a very elegant dusty pale mauve creme. This is the first color I picked out and it did not disappoint. Such a beautiful shade! Opaque in two coats.
LJ138 “Doppelganger” is a gorgeous rich grape purple creme. It is quite dark but not black. I think it will look great on every skin tone. Opaque in two coats.
LJ140 “Unexpected Script” is a refreshing sky blue creme with just a touch of grey. It’s a great winter color as well as a summer one. Personally, I wish it could be a little bit dustier. Still, it’s a beautiful shade. Opaque in two coats.
LJ148 “Right Here” is a warm-tone white creme. Unlike the straight up white LJ080 from their previous collection, this one is more of an ivory white, so it won’t look too out-of-the-place when you wear it as a full manicure. It’s also a great base color for nail art. I put three coats on for the pictures, but I could have gotten away with two. It was only slightly patchy on the second coat, which is barely visible. As a lot of you may know, white is one of the hardest-to-make color in the world of nail polish. An opaque white nail polish with a smooth and self-leveling formula is hard to come around. In my opinion, this one self-levels quite well. That makes it a worthy candidate if you are looking for a white nail polish that can be wore alone.
LJ149 “Midnight Temptation” is a medium-tone pale grey creme. Judging from the official swatch, it looks very similar to LJ150 “Hide and Seak”. I can only assume the latter is warmer. I will do a comparison if/when I get my hands on both. Feel free to let me know in the comment or DM me on Instagram or Facebook if you’re interested too.
That’s it for the swatches! I hope you enjoy the colors I choose. Due to the craziness of 2020, you can only find some of their new shade on Amazon starting late January. So keep an eye out for that! Lastly, I thought I’ll share a simple nail art I made with five out of the six colors shared today down below. If you are interested in nail arts, welcome to follow me on Instagram @jemima.nails.
