It’s PPU time again! The theme of August is Time Travel, and as always, I have offerings from Lemming Lacquer and LynB Designs to share with you. We have a beautiful magnetic, and a magical glow-in-the-dark polish that are both nailing the Time Travel theme. Let’s get right to it!
Maddening Multiverse｜Lemming Lacquer
Lemming Lacquer is bringing us another stunning magnetic. Maddening Multiverse is a black jelly base with teal to green to blue to violet shifting shimmer and red to copper to gold multichrome magnetic pull, inspired by the vast multiverse. Shown in 2 coats. Pointer and ring finger are magnetized into cat-eye style; middle finger and pinkie are unmagnetized; thumb is magnetized into velvet style. This polish is super shifty! It’s beautiful even without magnetizing. The contrast between the base and the magnetic stripe is very stark. Something fun about this polish is that it coincides with Lemming’s September offering, coming next month to PPU. They pose a question of how a polish will look in different universe, and these two polishes will answer that question. If you’re interested in wearing them as a combo, make sure to grab this one this month. In the back I’ve included comparisons with some similar shades from the past, including Cosmic Cattitude (May 2024 PPU), Quentin the Fool (The Magicians), and Edwin (Dead Boy Detectives).

Temporal Chaos｜LynB Designs
From LynB Designs, we have Temporal Chaos, an indigo neon jelly base filled with purple to pink shifting flakies, scattered magenta to green shifting UCC flakies, and aqua glow in the dark, shown in 3 coats. It was inspired by the 14th regeneration of The Doctor. This polish is flakies-heavy, so the formula is on the thicker side. This helps to keep the glow-in-the-dark pigment afloat, so you don’t have to shake like hell every time to get the best glow effect.

Polish Pickup is the largest monthly collaboration for indie nail polishes. Based in the US, the shop opens first Friday to the following Monday of every month for pre-order, featuring mostly indie nail polishes, as well as some indie jewelries, lifestyle items, wax melts, nail cares, bath and body cares, etc. The monthly shop will have different theme each month, submitted and voted by Facebook group members three month ahead, based on which all the brands will create a shop exclusive item.
