🇺🇸 Vintage Halloween – September 2024 Polish Pickup

*Products shown are gifted/paid in exchange for swatches. All opinions are my own.*

September has always been a most anticipated month for PPU, because the theme is usually Halloween related, and people love Halloween! This year is no exception; theme of the month is Vintage Halloween. I have offering from 5 makers to share with you! This has been a new milestone for me since it’s the most I’ve swatched for PPU in a month. Let’s go!

  1. Pumpkin Vibes|Kathleen & Co.
  2. Going Guising|Lemming Lacquer
  3. Feeling Ghostly|LynB Designs
  4. All Souls|PI Colors
  5. I Know What You Did|Wildflower Lacquer

Pumpkin Vibes|Kathleen & Co.

First up, from a new brand I’m guest-swatching for, Kathleen & Co., Pumpkin Vibes is a super shifty larger particle multi chrome that moves through rose/copper to orange/gold to green and even aqua at extreme angles. Worn in 3 coats, but the shift is so strong I would gladly wear 2 when the nail line is barely visible. It is almost impossible to capture all of the shifts in pictures, but trust me when I tell you it is so shifty that I almost called security on it!

Going Guising|Lemming Lacquer

From Lemming Lacquer, we have Going Guising, a magenta jelly that shifts from gold to green to blue. Opaque in 2 coats. Inspired by the history of trick-or-treating traces back to Scotland and Ireland, where the tradition of guising, going house to house at Halloween and putting on a small performance to be rewarded with food or treats, goes back at least as far as the 16th century, as does the tradition of people wearing costumes at Halloween. This tradition was known as “Going Guising.” I really like those colorful flakies!

Feeling Ghostly|LynB Designs

Next up, from LynB Designs, we have Feeling Ghostly, a ghostly aqua base with pink to peach to green shifting shimmer, inspired by Pepper’s Ghost. Shown in 3 coats. Although this doesn’t look much like a Halloween/fall shade for me, I’m loving the almost minty color. It’s so refreshing!

All Souls|PI Colors

PI Colors is back this month with All Souls.000, a mauve pink base with pink and gold shimmer and gold color shift. This is inspired by a modern take on vintage halloween interior design aesthetic. This one is almost a one coater. Although I ended up wearing two coats, the opacity is honestly impressive. This mauve base does give out a vintage vibe!

I Know What You Did|Wildflower Lacquer

Last but not least, from Wildflower Lacquer, we have a magnetic polish named I Know What You Did. It is a dark orange base with blue shimmer and a subtle magnetic shift that shifts aqua/purple/pink. This will likely stain, so a good base coat is recommended to use with it. In my swatches, the middle finger and the pinkie is unmagnetized, opaque in 2 coats; while the thumb, the pointer, and the ring finger is magnetized into a cat-eye look, opaque in 3 coats. I love this one magnetized! I don’t know if it’s just my eye, but the magnetic line appears a little holo to me which is just icing on the cake!
