Fall is my favorite season, partly because I adore the classic fall colors. I want to share some of my fall favorites with you. It’ll be sort of a long list, but I tried very hard to narrow it down. I ended up settled on 5 cremes and 10 special effect polishes. Although some of these are not available anymore, I still want to include them. If you happen to have them in your collection, now is the perfect time to wear them! Let’s dive in!

This post was meant to come out last week in between polish launches, but my procrastination got the best of me. However, I do still want to squeeze this in before some other new collection launches that will be coming soon (shhhhh…). I’ll be sharing the cremes first, then the special polishes. They are in alphabetical order of the brand respectively.
Express Yourself|ANNY
The first color I’ll share is from a German mainstream brand, ANNY, called Express Yourself. I couldn’t find the official description, but to my eye, it looks like a warm olive green with brown undertone, shown in 2 coats. I absolutely love a prugly shade like this! The warm undertone fits really well with my yellow skin tone. ANNY’s formula has always been amazing, creamy, and opaque. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find any stockist in the US. But for my European friends, although I’m not entirely sure of the availability of this specific shade, I believe you can easily find the brand in most of the drugstores.

Brownstone|Cirque Colors
Next up we have an indie. Brownstone is a burn sienna brown creme from Cirque Colors, shown in 2 coats. This is from their Terracotta collection released back in Fall 2022. It is one of my all time favorite collection from Cirque Colors. Unfortunately I can no longer fine Brownstone on their site. It seems that it has been discontinued, which makes me so sad to have found out now. I love how rich this color is!

Poison Ivy|mooncat
The third creme I love is from mooncat. Poison Ivy is a deep forest green creme, shown in 2 coats. In my opinion, it looks more like a dark teal than a forest green, but that’s exactly what I love about it. This one has excellent opacity, is almost a one-coater. I did two coats out of habit, since that makes me feel more secure.

Linger Over Coffee|OPI
Linger Over Coffee by OPI is probably one of the oldest polish in this post, and one of the oldest polish I own. You can tell by the picture that I actually swatched this a while ago. It is a dusty dry-rose-petal color that has a hint of brown in certain lighting. Swatches shown in 2 coats, but it was very opaque in 1. I bought it quite some years ago and still love and wear it every year during this time. I apologized for the brush strokes in these pictures, especially in the close-ups. Those are from the top coat I used, which obviously is not good. The color itself self-levels pretty well. This is another color that I found got discontinued when writing this article. I guess I’ll have to enjoy my bottle while it lasts.

Dijon|Soy Clay*
The final creme I want to share is from an Australian boutique brand Soy Clay. They have a relatively smaller catalogue but the colors are all very wearable. Dijon is described as a mustard-yellow creme with ginger and grey tone. Shown in 3 coats. The formula is a little bit jelly-like and buildable, making it look extra juicy on the nails. I also absolutely love their wooden cap.

Pumpkin Patch|Femme Fatale
Now to the interesting part! The first special effect polish I’ll share is also from an Australian brand, an indie call Femme Fatale. Pumpkin Patch was my very first color purchased from them. It was the Color of the Month of September 2020, described as a greyed out green crelly with orange hex glitter in various sizes and holographic glitters. Shown in 3 coats. I think my bottle might have settled a bit, so the colors appears more like a dark teal than a green. As you can see in the pics, the green pigments have settled to the bottom of the bottle. But I love it either way! The name and the colors matches perfectly! It’s such a cute color to wear in Autumn.

Thinking Only Autumn Thoughts|Garden Path Lacquer
Thinking Only Autumn Thoughts is from a US-based indie called Garden Path Lacquer (formerly known as Lollipop Posse Lacquer) It is a rusty red/orange base with red and copper holographic microglitter, shown in 3 coats. I bought this one during PPU rewind in 2022, along with a few of their polishes. It was the first time I’ve bought from them, and this one has quickly became one of my fall favorites. It’s sparkly and vibrant. How can I not love it?

Countryside|ILNP*
The next two colors are both making their second appearances on my blog. They are both from ILNP. Countryside is a charming olive-green hue with scattered holographic flakes. Opaque in 3 coats. The jelly and holo flakie combo has always been one of my favorite formula. The sparkle and the prugly base color is right up my alley.

Fawn|ILNP
The next one is Fawn from ILNP, a brown with copper shimmer, silver and gold metallic flakes and a bronze magnetic effect. Shown here in 3 coats. Although 2 coats might be enough for full coverage, but I did 3 to achieve a magnetic effect with more depth. The thumb is in velvet style. I was hesitant to include two colors from the same brand, but I couldn’t choose between Countryside and Fawn; both are colors I would immediately think of when speaking of fall shades.

A Place In The Sun|Mistermorden
This one you can call it a nostalgic pick. It’s from a local brand that no longer exists called Mistermorden. It was the leading brand in Taiwan in making special effect polishes, and was one of the first brand I’ve ever purchased from. Unfortunately they went out of business a few year ago. A Place In The Sun is an antique gold to brown to muted green multichrome. Shown in 2 coats. It’s very streaky, but I don’t mind it at all. The antique gold color just screams fall to me.

Espresso Patronum!|Painted Polish
This one is from another US-based indie brand, Painted Polish. It’s also one of the first indie I purchased from. Espresso Patronum! is an ultra dark chocolate jelly with nude holo microglitters from their Rise & Grind quartet back in Autumn 2020. Shown in 2 coats. I knew it would be a favorite of mine ever since I saw the swatches of it. It’s so rich but so glittery! Save to say that it is the chocolate brown of my dream.

Vogue|Picture Polish
Next up is Vogue from an Australian indie brand Picture Polish. It is an antique gold base with their signature holographic microflakes. Picture Polish is one of my favorite brand. I love the community they build, bringing people together, and celebrate polish lovers around the world. Vogue was a collab shade with a nail artist Agnes @mdollasnails. The color is so unique to my collection! I could honestly wear this all year round. Sadly this one is also discontinued, you can only find a small amount left on stockist’s site.

Jack O’Lantern|Polished for Days
If you’ve been shopping indies for a while, then the next color must be familiar. Jack O’Lantern by Polished for Days was a crowd favorite a few years ago when it came out as a PPU shade. It’s a burnt orange jelly base with orange to green glowing iridescent shifting flakes and black flakes, shown in 3 coats, if I remember correctly. I bought this one in a destash because I regret not getting it during launch. I love how it (the black flakes specifically) captures the essence of a Jack O’Lantern. The glowy flakies are simply stunning too.

It Doesn’t Get Eddie Vedder Than This|Wildflower Lacquer*
My last two favorites are both from Wildflower Lacquer (now rebranded into Royla Lee Lacquer). It Doesn’t Get Eddie Vedder Than This was also a crowd favorite at the time of launch. It’s a grungy green jelly base with blue to indigo shifting shimmer. Shown here in 3 coats, but I would also wear it in 2 for the base color to show through more. I just can’t resist a grungy color like this. I remember someone share this to an Eddie Vedder fan group, causing a surge in requests to buy this color. That’s why Taylor brought it back shortly after its initial release.

The Pumpkin Wien|Wildflower Lacquer
Saving the best for the last! (Just kidding! They’re all the bests!) The Pumpkin Wien has been a number one on my ISO list for a looooong time. A friend from Instagram, Alyssa @realitygreene, found out about this and graciously gifted me an extra bottle she found in destash. I’m forever indebted to her! The Pumpkin Wien is a burnt orange linear holo, shown in 2 coats. It definitely lives up to the hype! It’s everything I imagined and more! Good news is that Taylor will be bringing this back as 2.0 version in November. If you want to get your hands on one, don’t forget to check out roylalee.com in November.

Like I mentioned earlier, although a lot of these are not available anymore, I still wanted to share them with you. I love shopping my stash, and love when someone else’s swatches reminds me of a polish I have but seldom wears. I hope this post inspires you to do the same. Let me know in the comments if any of these is your favorite too, or if you have other favorites to recommend.
